Romsey show early form

The two season openers both attracted crowds of 160+, once again demonstrating the popularity of Friday night football.

Romsey Town got their season off to an excellent start with a 3-1 win over fellow Southampton club, Hythe & Dibden. The honour of scoring the first goal of the new season fell to Kieran Hancock with a header from a corner on the stroke of half time.

Second half goals from Harry Draycott and Matt Page Confirmed Romsey’s superiority before Jack Attrill scored a late consolation for Hythe.

Hamble & Lymington are expected to be among the front runners in the Premier Division and both are unbeaten after playing out a goalless draw at Hamble.
