Cowes Sports have retained the Isle of Wight Gold Cup after beating Newport (IOW) on penalties in front of 605 at Westwood Park on Friday evening.
It took until the 79th minute for the deadlock to be broken - George Carter slotting home for Cowes, who led despite being down to ten men following Ollie West's red card on the hour.
Newport levelled with two minutes of normal time remaining - Henry West on target for the Division One side - but it was Cowes who prevailed on spot-kicks, winning 6-5.
