Tuffley Rovers AFC to unveil stadium upgrade in Gloucestershire

What: Tuffley Rovers AFC will open their upgraded stadium.
Where: British Gas Sports Field, Lower Tuffley Lane, Gloucester, GL2 5AJ.

When: Tuesday 3 October at 7.30pm

Tuffley Rovers AFC will officially unveil their upgraded stadium on Tuesday 3 October at 7.30pm, during a fixture against a Bristol City FC XI, thanks to a grant from the Premier League through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) – the largest funders of non-league football in the country.

The grant has enabled Tuffley Rovers to install a brand new spectator stand, as well as ball-stop netting and a public address system. The club, which plays in the Hellenic League Premier Division, expect that the project will help them to attract and retain spectators.

The state-of-the-art stand, which has capacity for 100 people, means that the club’s home ground now meets the Grade F requirements of the FA National Ground Grading Criteria for the Tuffley Rovers’ Step 5 position.

The project was made possible thanks to a £14,082 grant from the Premier League, through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund, the sister organisation of the Football Foundation.

Funded with £6.5m each year from the Premier League, the FSIF is the country’s largest provider of grants towards projects that help improve the comfort and safety of lower league football grounds in both the professional and amateur game. These improvements range from new football stands and turnstiles to floodlighting and improved provision for disabled supporters.
