Cllr. Cherilyn Williams from Cornwall County Council will officially switch on Sticker AFC’s new floodlights for the first time on Monday 9 October at 6.45pm, thanks to a grant from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund – the largest funders of non-league football in the country.

The funding has enabled Sticker AFC to install a new lighting system, allowing them to offer a safer and more effective training environment to their players. After their recent promotion to the South West Peninsula League Premier Division, the project helped the club to meet the standards of the FA National Ground Grading Criteria for their new Step 6 position.

The project was made possible thanks to a £56,077 grant from the Premier League, through the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF), the largest funders of non-league football in the country.

This follows two previous grants from the Premier League, delivered by the FSIF, that Sticker AFC have received – taking the total investment of Premier League money into the club to £71,644 since 2011.

Funded with £6.5m each year from the Premier League, the FSIF is the country’s largest provider of grants towards projects that help improve the comfort and safety of lower league football grounds in both the professional and amateur game. These improvements range from new football stands and turnstiles to floodlighting and improved provision for disabled supporters.
