Easter Weekend often is a deciding point in the season but nothing is really clear cut at present, especially in the promotion chase in Division One, though the bottom of the Premier Division is beginning to look ominous for the Clubs involved.

At the other end of the Premier Division leaders Andover Town face a Team Solent side always capable of scoring goals at the Portway whilst second place Blackfield and Langley entertain Hamworthy United, one place behind them, at Gang Warily in what should be an entertaining encounter. There is another good game on the cards at Portchester where the home side, currently in fifth spot, entertain Sholing who are one place above them and have won their last six League fixtures.

Alresford, unbeaten in five, host a Bournemouth side that has not won in eight while Horndean, at present enjoying a good run, welcome Bemerton to Five Heads Park. Baffins Milton Rovers, having beaten the League leaders last Saturday now face Petersfield who are stranded at the other end of the table.

Hamble Club and Fareham meet in a game that could go either way whilst Brockenhurst, unbeaten in five, head west to Portland. Cowes Sports make the long Haul to Shaftesbury, usually strong on their own ground, whilst it is probably the last chance saloon at St Georges Park where Newport meet Amesbury. Defeat for either could be disastrous.

In Division One long unbeaten leaders Christchurch cross the Solent to East Cowes Vics whilst Andover New Street entertain near neighbours Whitchurch on Friday evening, when hopefully they could attract a good attendance. AFC Stoneham, at present suffering a “mini-blip” travel to League Cup finalists Fawley while Romsey, currently going well, host Downton at the By pass ground.

Eighth meet ninth at Anstey as Alton welcome New Milton and Laverstock and Ford, unbeaten in nine and very much in the promotion chase, head to Totton and Eling who are not currently enjoying the best of fortunes.. US Portsmouth, beaten at Whitchurch last time out and on the edge of the promotion race, travel down the A31 to Verwood whilst bottom Club Follands head to the Waterside and Hythe and Dibden.

Sadly one suspects the weather will somewhat disrupt the above.
