History:

Petersfield Town was formed as recently as 1993 following the demise of Petersfield United who had been playing in the Isthmian (now Ryman) League. The new Club commenced in the Wessex League but struggled and resigned after just two seasons only for a new Board to take over and withdraw the resignation. However the Club did suffer relegation to the Hampshire League and dropped down a further division for one season. The re-organisation of the League saw the Club return to the Wessex League in 2004 since when they have consolidated their position in Division One. The Club is a Charter Standard Community Club and provides football for both boys and girls from the ages of 10 to 18.

Maik Taylor: The Northern Ireland goalkeeper (88 full Caps) and over 500 first class appearances for the likes of Southampton, Birmingham City and Fulham started his career at Petersfield.
