The present Club was founded as Tadley FC in 1989 though there was football in the village for many years prior to that with Tadley always a strong force in Basingstoke Junior football and in the mid-sixties it was home to Bramley All Blacks, one of the founder members of the Hampshire Sunday League at that time. The Club joined the Hampshire League in 1994 and gained promotion to Division Two the following season. In 1999 they became Tadley Town and joined Division One on the League’s re-organisation. In 2004 they changed the name again to its present title (Calleva comes from the nearby Roman Town of Calleva Atrebatum which is now just outside nearby Silchester) and joined the Wessex League. In 2007-08 they moved into Barlows Park and won the Division One Championship but were denied promotion because of ground issues and have remained in Division One to this day. Those ground issues have since been overcome whilst the recent addition of a Clubhouse is another forward step for the Club.
